These instructions will ONLY work for University owned computers.  All personal computers will not be able to connect to network printers and must use the Oiler Print Release solution in order to print.

To install a printer using Windows 10:

  1. Locate the sticker on the front of the printer.  This will have the queue name printed on it.
  2. Right click on Start and click on Run.
  3. Type in control Printers.
  4. Click the 'Add a Printer' button at the top of the window.
  5. Once the list populates, find your printer.
  6. Click the printer and select Next.
  7. This will set up the printer to be used on your computer.
  8. If necessary, check the "Set as default printer" check box after receiving the 'You've successfully added' message.
  9. Select Finish.

Alternate method:

  1. Locate the sticker on the front of the printer.  This will have the queue name printed on it.
  2. Once the queue name is discovered it will be an odd or an even number.  This will correspond with the print server name.  There are two print servers.  ufprint01 for odd and ufprint02 for even.
  3. Right click on Start and click on Run.
  4. You will then type the following command into the run box andclick ok:
    \\servername\printer-number
    for example
\\ufprint01\pr0003-0001$ - if the printer you are trying to print to is pr0003-0001$ (the 1 at the end mean it is an odd numbered printer).
  5. This will automatically install the printer on the computer and if it is successful the printer queue will be displayed.
