Spyware is a type of malicious software (malware) designed to secretly monitor and collect information from your device—without your knowledge or consent.

What Spyware Does

  • Tracks your activity: It can log keystrokes, monitor browsing habits, and record emails or chats.
  • Steals sensitive data: Passwords, banking info, and personal files are common targets.
  • Sends data to third parties: Often to advertisers, hackers, or data brokers.
  • Slows down your system: It runs in the background, consuming resources.
  • Can open doors for other malware: Some spyware installs additional threats.
