How to find and link a shared folder to My files for OneDrive app access

When a file or folder is shared with youin OneDrive, it is available under the "Sharedon " section on OneDrive on the web.  The following instructions will guide you how to access OneDrive on the web, and link the shared files or folder to your "My files" location so you can easily access the files and folder using your OneDrive desktop application.  You can always return to the "Shared" location on the web if you do not want the files or folders to appear in your "My files" location.

  1. Login to your Findlay email: http://mail.findlay.edu.
  2. Click apps icon (3x3 box) in the top left beside the UF logo.
  3. Click OneDrive from the menu.
  4. Inthe left pane, click on Shared.
  5. If you're looking for specific file types or folders, you can filter them using the top bar.
  6. Locate the folder that has been shared with you.
  7. Click the 3 dots menu to the right of the folder.
  8. Click the "Add shortcut to My Files" button.
  9. This will link the shared folder to your default OneDrive files area and you can manage the folder from the OneDrive application.


How to remove a shared folder from My files in OneDrive

  1. Login to your Findlay email: http://mail.findlay.edu.
  2. Click the app icon (3x3 bo) in the top left beside the UF logo.
  3. Click OneDrive from the menu.
  4. In the left pane, click on "My files".
  5. Find the folder that you linked previously (it will have some people pictured on the folder icon and an arrow pointing north-east attached to the folder or a chain link).
    or
  6. Click the 3 dot menu to the right of the folder.
  7. Click the "Remove" button.
  8. This will remove the link to the shared folder from your default OneDrive files area.
